I Purchased a bulk bag of what was supposed to be vegetable mix topsoil in March of this year, The delivery of the soil was late) . I intended to get some early potatoes and beetroot sown but found after a few weeks that nothing would grow.... except mushrooms, despite having 2 attempts. Having called Valley contractors twice to discuss the issue they refuse to accept that the product provided is no more than compost. As an associated member of the Institute of Industrial Managers, IEMA), I have significant knowledge and understanding of environmental issues. as as such know that the mix of this product is wrong!!
Although Valley state that they will refund me they have stated that I must return the soil to their yard, (all 1 ton of it) which is impossible. They kindly offered to pick up the soil.... at a cost of £50.00 which means they would refund me just over £20.00. Buyer beware -having purchased replacement soil from another provider everything I have planted has germinated and is growing as expected. I will be taking this issue further as I have definitely been given the wrong product.
