Just finished a spring bear hunt at Taggart Bay lodge. Worst hunting experience ever, and ive been on several outfitted hunts to other parts of Canada. The owner is rude, failed to introduce himself or welcome us upon arrival. When showing us our cabin, said " are you coming, I have other stuff to do" in a nasty tone. Very unprofessional. Them he raised the rate of the hunt three years after it had been booked and agreed upon. On top of that, several of us, including other hunters I spoke with from other groups that were there, didn't even see a bear. When speaking with the owner, his response was " did anyone promise you anything?". Stay away from this outfitter .

Went to taggart bay for a hunting and fishing trip in June 2018. The owner Yves was the most rude and disrespectful person I have had the misfortune of meeting. I had a question about my bear that I had already shot and called the guide who had given me his phone number. Yves was with the guide and took the phone from him and began cussing me out and told me to never call his guide again because it costs him money. The guide had given me his number and did not tell me to not call. I went to discuss it with Yves like he requested and he continued to cuss and swear and at one point threatened to make my family and I leave our trip early. Yves is a lunatic that has the worst customer service you could ever imagine
...bordered on verbal assault. Unbelievable after I spent about 8grand on the trip for me and my family.

Went to taggart bay lodge this past fall for moose hunting, was not at all what I expected, the outfitter running the place was never really around never came to check in see if everything was good , just left us to our own devices of trying to find moose, lodging was old and in need of repairs, they don't even have potable water there ....when we did contact the outfitter for a leaking toilet and just wanted to talk and pick his brain on moose hunting he was very rude... French Canadians not very hospitable, wish I would of went to Ontario instead where it seems they go out of their way to be helpful and polite..... made the best of it but certainly not what I would expect for what we paid to be there....
