My experience with NASRO has been a nightmare. I was looking for affordable health insurance and thought this would be ideal for me. I initially spoke with the director on the phone. I was told an application could be mailed or emailed easily online or faxed to him. I did it immediately and it took a month for him to process, even though I was assured over and over again that it becomes effective as soon as he receives it. I sent a fax and had a confirmation with the exact date and time that it was received. I was never able to speak with the director again, as when I called to speak to him, I was told he was never there or unavailable. I was continually handed over to to a woman named Barbara. Now, when I spoke to the director, he told he only he and Barbara were the only ones working for NASRO, as it was a small company, and their office has just the two of them. When, after 2 months of trying to find out why they were not sending me monthly payments, I called again. This time the director answered the phone. I recognized the voice and said I was glad to finally be able to speak with him. He stuttered, clearly caught off guard and said that the director was not in the office. I asked why I was not getting monthly statements to pay for my health insurance. He was constantly putting me on hold, trying to sound as though he was not who he was, and trying to offer some sort of an explanation (all of which made no sense) and after 3 times of being put on hold for 10 mins each time, finnaly said he himself would see to it that he speaks with the director and would get back to me. No one ever did. I did keep sending in monthly payments, making a copy of my check, my account number, and any info relating to my account. All checks were being cashed. Every time I went to the doctor, it was a constant issue of them trying to reach someone at NASRO. After 6 months, I starting getting a monthly pay statement, but now they had moved to another location. For another 5 months, I wasn't getting monthly statements. Was was their answer to this? They had moved. When it came time for me to send in taxes, I waited for a health insurance (H-9) form to be sent to me. When I didn't get it, I called and emailed them to request one to be sent. They never did. I had to fight the IRS and them trying to get this resolved. 2 Months after I had my taxes done, Barbara, whom I had called 8 times in 7 months, had no clue who I was. Each time I called her, we had lengthy discussions as to why I cannot get a monthly bill statement or or an H-9 form sent to me. She acted as though this was the first time I was speaking with her, as she told me she had not ever spoken to me before. I sent her the conversations we had through emails and the excat times and dates we had spoken on the phone and what these converastions were about. Again, she denied ever speaking to me. I had to play dumb, again, in order to even try to resolve any issues I were having. After an hour of being on the phone, in which she put me on hold 4 times, I was told that the H-9 form was sent to my address, but in the wrong city. I asked if the reason I wasn't getting a monthly statement was because of the same issue and she had no answer. I told her I would continue to send in my bill without a statement, and her reply was for me to not do that until they resolve this and receive a statement in the mail. A month later, I received an email from her stating that my health plan was cancelled due to not paying for the past month's bill. This is what I must expect from NASRO in order to get health insurance from them?
