I had the opportunity to go to a meeting last night with this group and after the meeting I had made my mind up to join this club. What a great group to be around Im new to RC planes but am a Sim Pilot so learning to fly a RC was second nature to me, Im excited about being around others in this hobby as I think I know it all already these guys will defintly prove me wrong I'm sure of that. They seem to be really on the ball with maintaining the facility and keeping the field looking well even cutting grass twice a week.
Im excited and just want to say if you EVER wanted to try RC and never had the money or time these guys will go out of the way to get you flying they really are about educating the public and really focus on getting youth involved in avaiation with so many opportunities in this profession the need for Pilots is a huge demand right now.
This club is working with the First Flight High School as mentors for building a REAL airplane with 24 students working on this project they could of not asked for a better group
like this one to be mentors to these students.
Thanks guys for letting me sit in on your meeting and I very much enjoyed having breakfast with you this morning I now feel like I have a solid support group to help me with my new found Hobby !

All I can say is wow, wow, wow, this club is amazing!
My 12 year old son has been interested in flying and bought himself an AeroScout RC plane. We live in central NC and found a club nearby where he learned some basics from another club member and began flying on his own. A little while back we were planning a vacation to Kitty Hawk to visit the Wright brothers monument and take in the home of flight. We looked for a local RC flight club near Kitty Hawk in hopes that my son could fly his plane in the birthplace of flight. We found the Dare County RC flyers and sent them an email asking if we could fly at their club while in the area.
Well, not only did we get an invitation to fly at the club, we were welcome with open arms for an entire day of flight with other members of the club. They invited us to breakfast to begin the day, and then they showed us to their flying field, flew with my son, taught him new things, showed him way cool things like first person viewer flying, and taught him to fly new planes.
I just cannot believe how amazing these people are. What an incredible club! If you want to learn to fly an RC plane, or want to hang out with a great group of people playing with super cool planes and engineering feats, please reach out to DCRC flyers! What a fabulous day we had with them!

The club is very welcoming and proactive with teaching and letting anyone who would like fly a trainer plane right of the bat. So accommodating and friendly! Thank you Dare County RC Flyers!

I joined Dare County Radio Control Flyers in September 2019 to get into the hobby of flying radio control model aircraft. There were about 13 members at that time and they were all welcoming to me as a beginner in the hobby. The members worked with me in setting up and learning about what it takes to fly a radio control airplane, then they taught me how to fly it!
The membership has increased since then, and I can honestly say that this a a great group of people, bound by our common love for aviation.
In addition to our flying, we frequently meet to have breakfast or to help each other out with our latest airplane projects.
Unlike some radio control flying clubs that ostracize members based on the size, construction material, power source, or use of beginner-safe technology of their aircraft, you won't find that here. If it will fly, and is not a safety hazard, they are supportive of your choices.
In summary, Dare County Radio Control Flyers is all about flying, having fun doing so, and enjoying the company of our fellow members. If you live on the Outer Banks or the surrounding area and want to fly radio control aircraft, then Dare County Radio Control Flyers is for you!
