Saw the expiration date was 2026, called to activate the card only to be told the card has been closed because the inactivity fees has depleted the amount on a card that has not expired yet. Will suggest you put the inactivity fee statement as the first statement on the back instead of “funds do not expire”. Because a lot of people will not read beyond the first statement if they know the funds will not expire.

I will NEVER recommend this card to anyone. The fees associated with this card are ridiculous. I have had nothing but headaches with this card. Unauthorized charges but I have to prove who I am to use my own money. Make it make sense. Purchases that should be pinged as fraudulent aren't and when I use the card to make purchases, then it's a fraudulent activity. Junk just pure junk. No stars.

Worst experience ever! First time I tried to use this car it didn’t work. I called customer service they needed to know the exact dollar amount I didn’t remember or the issuer now the car is expired; however, it has an expiration date of April 2028 go figure! We received several gift cards around the holiday we don’t remember everyone who gave us one nor the dollar amount for each card! Services Credit Union SUCKS!!!

I was charged $15.00 on a $25.00 gift card for inactive fees. Is this even legal? Waiting to hear if they will reverse the fees. If this is their policy which the rep kept restating, it needs to be in BOLD CAPITAL print ON THE GIFT CARD. Had I known, I would obviously used the card much sooner!

These guys have hidden fees. Called to dispute them, they just shrugged and said tough luck. I sense my luck will be much better with a different company.

Horrible service after card expires and there's still money on the card. They've multiple times about the card being in the mail between 7-10 days. This is day 16 and no card replacement.

They say the card never expires but they then charge a $5.00 inactive transfection fee after 12 months. So in reality a $25. gift card expires in 17 months. This card is a scam, will never purchase it again.

I've had problems with the CU Money VISA debt card from the time I've aquired it.

Debit cards should be easy to use . This one hangs when doing on-line purchases and refuses to complete transactions (card refused purchase).
Phone contacts cost .50 cents each after 4 troubleshooting calls are made. Customer service calls cost 5 dollars each after the second contact is made and the calls do not solve the problems.
In general a worthless PITA. Shop arround you can do much better.

The AM/Ex debit card works well but is not accepted by a number of establishments though I've not had any problems with it otherwise.
Shop around

On May 2 through the 11th, 2016, I traveled to Italy. I used the CuMmoney card, as I have used in the past with no issues. Talking to others who traveled in the past, I was warned to be careful of pickpocket's and card scammers. I took two CU Money cards for the trip. The first one worked without incident or issues. When the second was depleted I called my bank to have them add more money to one of the cards. I started to use the second card. On the second day, May 7, 2016, the card stopped working. I went to several vendors and money exchanges but could not get the card to work. I called the bank where I original obtained the card, they were unsure why the card had stopped. My bank, was willing to send me another card, the unfortunate thing was it would not have arrived on time. I struggled the last few days and was disappointed that I could not shop and spend money on my dream vacation. I did have hard cash that I eventually had to use to complete my trip. Because of the exchange rate and commission rate, I lost money in converting US dollars to euro's. I later found out that that Cu money had a glitch in their system, this information they were unwilling to admit. I spoke to their customer service rep who told me that the bank should have contacted me. The end state it was the blame game.

My first experience was a normal prepaid type of experience. Then when I tried to load my card thru their website from my bank account, they held my funds for 6 days and in the end removed my funds. They said their was a glitch in their system. Also if you try to use the card for a purchase and may be short funds on account, they decline the transaction and charge your account .50. Costumer service is overseas and have had language barrier difficulty. Overall this is the stupidest company I have ever entrusted my money with. I would use WalMart over this company any day. Save your time and frustration and get a different card.

At first the CU money card worked well for me in Europe. I began using it last September. In May I began having problems getting my money from the card in France. Upon returning to the US when I loaded my card from my checking account I found my checking account would be missing the money almost immediately but my CU Money card would not have it on my account until 6 days later. My question is: Where does my money go for those days? Who gets to use my money for those days? Why does it take longer to load my card from the internet than it would if I drove across the country to do it? Guess why they call it "C U Money?
