This company provides terrible service to their borrowers. They claim to want to offer excellent customer service, but time and time again make the experience impossible. I have called in requesting information, verified myself, sent in authorizations in writing, and called in with the client on the phone, and they still refused to supply myself or the client with information that was needed for her refinance. Upon supplying them with the requested documents, I received part of the information that was requested. After calling in to address this, I was told that "even with authorization and the borrower on the line, we do not speak to other mortgage companies". The borrower was in tears. I've worked in this business for over 15 years, and the nature of the business for all of us is that clients change companies. They look for the best service, the best deal, and a place that they feel like they will be treated well and accommodated when they request information or attempt to better their current situation. We all make an attempt to keep our clients with us, try to make the best offer and continue the relationship. You win some, you lose some. Protecting the client by requiring certain documentation is something that is a standard practice for any reputable company. Continuously refusing to provide information after that documentation is received is another story. Especially when you are refusing to cooperate with the client themselves, as well as the company that provided the required documentation several weeks prior. The intentional delay from CIS cost the borrower time and money. In the end, I was able to get the borrowers refinance done, and my company covered the costs that were created by the purposeful delay from CIS. There are so many reputable mortgage companies and banks that provide excellent customer service, and CIS is simply not one of them. If there is such a concern about trying to prevent the loss of current clients, perhaps they should treat their clients with the respect that they deserve. With all of the reputable lenders out there offering excellent products and services, CIS is the last place that a consumer should look to for lending.
