A Camissa African centre for restorative memory. Beneath the streets of Cape Town runs a hidden river. It shares the name given to the indigenous people who first inhabited the Cape: Camissa. Over centuries of colonialism and marginalisation, the story of the Camissa people has too been buried, along with the origins of the diverse communities that have peopled the Cape. The Camissa Museum will bring these stories to the surface, told for the first time in their full richness and by those to whom they belong.
