As a business owner in the cosplay world. I needed pants for my husband. I meet John the owner of As they Sew in France in November of 2015 at a convention where he was showing his costumes. We spoke about him making a pair of custom pants for my husband. We agreed upon a style/color/price/delivery date. I paid in full. About Feb I received an email confirming delivery date in March 2016 at another convention.
Upon arrival the owner John was not there but 2 of his employees. They were unaware of the prior arrangements. She was working on two pairs of pants could either of these work for us. Not really we agreed up charcoal color and what she offered was cream hounds tooth the other pair appeared to be cut up curtains from 1500's... Size both were way off 6 inches to big in the waist and 4 inches to short. He not cosplaying a Victorian clown! This took place on Friday. Sunday rolls around finally they come over to retake information. I was extremely disappointed in the handling of all of this. Since I own a business it is extremely important to make sure right off and establish that this will be made right (by employees) and follow up (by the owner). It is now May still no word from As they Sew in France. He has my email he contacted me in Jan/Feb confirming delivery. Not to mention they took it again and I gave them a business card.
Lucky for me there was a business at this convention where I purchased 2 pairs of pants and vest. Time Travelers Outfitters tailored them on the spot to fit. That is costumers service.
When asked by cosplayers where did you get that out fit or do you recommend or not recommend. As they Sew in France is at the top of list as NOT recommended.
